Northern Hawk Owl 2

12 x 24, pyrography on wood, 2019, prints and cards available through shop, private collection

Northern Hawk Owls 1 and 2 were based off of photos that were taken during a wildlife tour that I conducted in Jasper National Park in 2018.  The owls were spotted at Medicine Lake, and thankfully a guest on my bus captured the original images of this beautiful owl on the hunt through the burnt out trees surrounding the lake, from which I created these pieces.  It was the first of two owl encounters that I had while doing wildlife tours in Jasper.
